Hello,
Enjoying a break from classes for Easter Break, as they call it here. My lab partner laughed at me calling it spring break 😂
My family including my Grandpa and an aunt and uncle came to Ireland to visit for the first half of my break. We stayed in this lovely manor just outside of Limerick!

On Friday, we went to the Cliffs of Moher. Despite considering rescheduling due to rain in the forecast, it was a beautiful sunny day. So, we got an even better view of the Cliffs than when I went earlier this semester!

Leaving the Cliffs, before arriving at the Burren, we saw the most perfect rainbow any of us had ever seen!
On Saturday, we went to Dingle. This is the Connor Pass which we drove through to get there. It has gorgeous mountain views and if you climb up behind us there is a pretty lake that Julianne accidentally took a swim in! Unfortunately, my old granny knees did not make it up there.

In Dingle, we found baby lambs that were not in an enclosed space full of hay, so I got to hold them! There were also big sheep, donkeys, and alpacas and we got to feed all of them!

I also met my soulmate – this guy was also limping on his knee 🥺 I gave him most of my food because he clearly need extra nutrition for recovery.
After seeing the sheep, we continued along the scenic Slea Head Drive. First, stopping to see the beehive huts. Then, we arrived at a gorgeous beach that my Gram and Da used to have picnics on. That was definitely one of my favorite places I’ve been this semester!

One Sunday, we stayed in Limerick and I made sure everyone tried the best toasties in Limerick at Treaty City Brewery. We then went across the street to King John’s Castle.
That evening, we had a fancy dinner at the Carriage House Adare Manor to celebrate Da’s 82nd birthday (that actual day), Dad’s 50th birthday (a couple days later), and Aunti Joni’s 60th birthday (a few more days later).

On Monday, we went to Kinsale. Our first stop was Old Head golf course, situated on a peninsula creating some pretty awesome views.

Just up the hill is the Lusitania museum. The Lusitania was a British ocean liner sunk by a German torpedo during WWI just off the coast of Kinsale. The sinking of this ship was influential in the U.S. entering the war.

On both our Dingle trip and this trip, we had a lovely driver Eoin pictured with us here at one of Da’s favorite pubs that was sadly closed.

On Tuesday, we went to Killarney. The guys left early to go golfing and the girls plus Da left a bit later and did some shopping while they finished their round. We are at the golf club’s restaurant, which has gorgeous views of the lake and mountains behind. I can only imagine the views on the course!
After lunch, we took a horse jaunty ride through Killarney with a stop at Rothe Castle!

On Wednesday, Vaughn and Dad had to leave because his spring break was the week prior. The rest of us stayed around Limerick again and met one of my Aunt Susan’s good friends, Noel, for brunch!

After brunch, we went to Bunratty Castle, which is very well preserved! It also has a folk park on the grounds that’s meant to resemble old Irish houses, schools, and shops.

Thursday, Da, Aunti Joni and Tim left and just Mom, Julianne and I went to Dublin. After sitting in Dublin traffic for at least an hour and thinking we would never arrive on time, we made it to the Celtic Nights dinner and show just about ten minutes late! It was really yummy food and good music!

We enjoyed learning the history and stories behind the songs they played in addition to listening to them. We also got to see some very impressive Irish dancing! At one point, Julianne and I got dragged up onto the stage for a little Irish dancing part.
I really enjoyed getting to see all of the spots special to Da and showing my family the places special to me!
