Hello!
This week is midterms, so wish me luck!
Yesterday, I went to the Aran Islands off the west coast!

We took a bus up to Galway the night before and spent the night. It’s a very lively town! Walking down the main street there was a different musician or singer playing music every block. And, it’s got those cute Ireland pennant flags strung all the way down the street.
In the morning, we took a ferry to the largest of the islands, Inis Mór. Its population is just 800 people! A bus took us first to a scenic outlook where you can walk right up the edge of the cliffs that drop off straight into the ocean. It was pretty cool, but also a little scary to get too close! This trip was through our IFSA program, but just 4 UST students went on the trip — the other students in the picture below are U.S. students studying at other universities in Ireland, like Cork and Galway.

Then, we took the scenic route back, stopping to see seals!

Finally, we got to spend some time walking around and shopping in Kilronan, the main town.

The rest of the weekend and the beginning of this week will be spent with Ava and Anya in the library or coffee shops or our living rooms motivating each other to get our work done for midterms! There just seems to be so many cooler things to be doing than homework when you’re in a new country…
